Personally…

I show up with my whole self at work and in life. I like to have fun, travel, build & ride motorcycles, make music, meditate, share my mindfulness practice with others and generally be helpful.

Public Speaker
I have spoken on the topic of design at AIGA and Ad-Fed events, facilitated interactive group reviews/critiques at events like WordCamp Miami, and have judged numerous design and advertising competitions. I’ve spoken to audiences of students and professionals, with a focus on the important role that design plays in improving communications, and the powerful role that process plays in a successful, creative business environment. I have spent years “reconciling creative artistry with the practical realities of the business world,” and that is a story I never mind sharing.

musician and songwriter
I’ve played in several bands (Giant Man, Killing Everything, Digginlilies, Gasganno), toured minimally, played original sets opening for national bands like the Lemonheads, Yo La Tengo, Death Cab for Cutie, and Cursive.

I’ve played some cool gigs—like back in 1996 when I wrote an original score for a modern dance piece, titled "Full Circle"—in collaboration with the German choreographer, Marc Bogaerts—for the Southern Ballet. My bandmates John, Danny and I played live, on stage with the dancers in front of sold-out crowds at the Bob Carr Auditorium in Orlando. Pretty cool!

And on a really fun note, I used up 7 seconds of fame when I wrote the only song heard in the feature indie film, “The Blair Witch Project.” Nowadays, I write a bit, but it's still only an occasional hobby.

None of the above would be possible if it weren’t for my most-amazing wife, Lisa. She’s supported me through it all, and what's even cooler is that we’ve worked so well together over the years. She’s an experienced traffic manager who has worked in publishing and for a handful of agencies. She helped me run the studio back in the day at Juicy Temples.
Lisa and I have dedicated our lives to the raising, feeding, and education of another sentient being, our daughter, Finley. She’s way smarter than I am and has the moral compass of her mom, so she’s destined to do great things. It's such an eye-opener to watch a kid blossom. Like little sponges.
Everything I do moving forward is for the purpose of making a better future for my girls. My aim is to make it rich with travel and cultural experiences, learning, and laughter!
